Cailin

Content Marketing Executive
As Loqbox’s token Australian, Cailin gets what it’s like to move to a new country and have to adjust to a new financial system, so she’s all about helping others do the same. With a communications degree under her belt, she’s a reader-first writer who loves proving that finance talk doesn’t have to be boring. If you don’t catch Cailin producing and interviewing people on the streets about money for Loqbox’s vox pops, you might find her at a gig with her mates, cooking up a storm at home, or at a yoga class.

If talking was a sport, Cailin would be up there with the champions. Chatting to strangers on the streets about how they feel about money? Her bread and butter. You’ll find all of the vox pops Cailin has yapped, laughed and listened in on our social media but here’s one of her favourites.

’s top financial reads and tips

My top 3 financial reads:

1. The best money saving moves to make this year: Whatever big goals you’ve got your heart set on, if there’s money involved, you can pretty much guarantee that you’ll have to do some saving.

2. A Christmas carol of credit: What do ghosts and credit have to do with each other? They can both come back to haunt you. It doesn’t have to be scary though.

3. 15 financial literacy tips to try: Learning about finance is one of the best things you can do to make your financial future richer and brighter. Knowledge is power and we want you to feel empowered when it comes to money.

My top 3 financial tips:

1. Wait a day to buy online: If you’ve got your eye on something but you’re not absolutely sure about it, leave it for at least 24 hours (or even more!). If the time goes by and you haven’t thought about it or the impulse to buy is gone, chances are you didn’t really want it that badly in the first place.

2. Buy second-hand: While we’re on the shopping theme, thrifting is not only fun and better for the planet but a great way to save on clothes and homewares. Check out your local charity shop or flea market for some absolute bargains.

3. Don’t be too hard on yourself: When it comes to money, it’s easy to feel anxious or guilty about how much you have or how much you’re spending. But the reality is, beating yourself about it doesn’t help you or the situation. Be kind and if you’ve worked hard, get the little treat!
